[Hey, we're
revising this page, too. Please check back soon.]
Brenda
This is me, looking all Super Girl. It's 1962. I'm
four years old, and all decked out in my favorite plaid dress, standing just outside of our apartment
on the beach in Provincetown on Cape Cod. (Eat your heart out. Not that I knew how fortunate I was at the time. I
was just hanging out with all the rest of my Portuguese relatives.)
Flash forward some 47 years. Same face.
Way different hairdo.
Waldorf Family Network is a hobby of mine. (You
know. In my spare time.) I'm also a homeschooling parent, farmer, writer, artist, and reiki master.
Michaelmas Farm is my home.

Joseph
This is Joseph, my
husband. I know. He also looks a bit young. Here he appears to be busy truckin' down a street
in Somerville, Mass. as a tyke, circa 1960. (Don't even ask us what his father is doing in this picture. We still
can't figure out if he's getting him out of the way of the traffic or pushing him into it. Scary.)
These days Joseph is busy truckin' as a data
base administrator for a Boston-area university. Or at least that's his day job. By night, he works as
an evil mastermind, creating math equations and practicing physics demos.

The Kids
Sam (13) loves reading, cooking, drawing, working with clay, playing the piano, riding his bike, and
all things baseball. He also has a deep love for aviation, and intends to fly his own plane one day. During the summer months,
he spends most of his time involved with theater at a local summer playhouse. Currently, Sam is focusing on 'grade
7/8' level work, and also volunteering at our local library each week, in addition to helping out on the farm.
Carly (15) enjoys reading, cooking, playing the piano and guitar,
sewing, and knitting. She is a pre-professional dancer, having studied Russian classical ballet for 9 years and currently studying
primarily modern dance with a local company. Carly also spends her summers at a local playhouse, primarily working
behind the scenes. Currently, she is focusing on 'grade 10' work, and is striving to create a college portfolio with
a direction in dance.
Carly and Sam each spent two years in an early childhood
class in a Waldorf school community before we began homeschooling using Waldorf methods, now over 10 years ago.
We are committed to continuing to homeschool in the Waldorf tradition through the teenage years.
As a family, we enjoy doing many things together, including playing board games, cross-country
skiing, camping, and (hand over your heart, please) following our beloved Red Sox.
We hope that you enjoy our
web site!
