May our feeling penetrate
To the centerpoint
of our hearts
And seek, in love, to unite itself
With human beings of like goal
And with spirit beings full
of grace
Who strengthen us from realms of light
And illuminate our love
While gazing down
On our
earnest heart-felt striving.
- Rudolf Steiner, 1923
a verse for America
Waldorf Family Network is a grassroots community-service project serving
those inspired by Waldorf education and the work of Rudolf Steiner. We emphasize information and resources for 'bringing
Waldorf home', particularly for those on the Waldorf homeschooling path, and also serve those interested in Steiner's
work for other reasons, such as adult development and reflection or learning how to implement rhythms to nurture
and strengthen family life. The principles and practices of Waldorf education, as well as Steiner's indications, are
universal in nature. They belong to us all. And so, we warmly welcome all into our 'Waldorf family' and
serve anyone with a sincere interest in learning more about Waldorf education and Steiner's work in the
world, including homeschooling families, parents, educators, child care providers, organizers, and the whole village
raising our children.
Founded in 2003, Waldorf Family Network is a project of Michaelmas Farm, a family homestead and developing center for cultural renewal 'integrating agriculture with education, the arts,
and community life' based in rural north central Massachusetts.
Our Mission is Threefold:
To be a wellspring of web-based support for the global Waldorf community
One of our goals is to offer practical and inspirational information on Waldorf education,
Waldorf homeschooling, and the work of Rudolf Steiner to all who share an interest. Please browse our Resource Directory,
articles, and more!
To
provide a vehicle for connection and community among those living in the New England area
In addition to support for our global community, we also offer select support to those who
reside in the New England area by maintaining a Yahoo Group for discussion, announcements, networking and community-building.
If you live in MA, NH, ME, VT, RI, CT or NY, we
warmly invite you to join us!
To develop and offer educational, networking,
and community-building events and activities open to all
Extending beyond
our web-based presence, we host festvial-based events and other programs at Michaelmas Farm, our mother initiative. Please
visit the Michaelmas Farm web site for the details of the current program calendar.
